Sorting through your closet and cleaning out the makeup bag is easy. What about organizing the necklace box in your jewelry?
1. You Should Be Objective
Remember that certain jewelry pieces may not be re-worn. Your future granddaughter, for example, might not want to wear the Claire's puka shell and beaded necklace. Put aside any jewelry with vague sentimental values. I don't mean to suggest you throw out the ring that your grandmother gave you on your birthday. But rather, the pair of earrings your mother bought you in the 7th (or 8th?) grade. Grade field trip. A piece of jewelry that has been at the bottom of your collection for some time is unlikely to be worn any time soon.
2. Take a Look!
It will be worth trying to revive some jewelry that has been buried under more recent purchases. Try it out. Be objective, but give something a shot if you're on the fence. You can easily get stuck in the same jewelry pieces, day after day. But try forcing yourself to be inspired by older pieces.
3. Get Thrifty
The next step is to decide what you want to keep. Getting thrifty is the most effective (but not only) way to go. Jewelry can be donated or sold at a thrift shop, just like clothing. It's true, vintage shops are also willing to buy your 90s accessories.
4. Take Crafty
What about all the other jewelry? There's no reason to discard necklaces, rings and earrings unless a clasp has broken, the jewel is missing or the medal makes your skin turn green. You can get creative if you don't want to sell or give away what you still have.
Why not organize your jewelry and make it more beautiful? You can find pieces that you'd thought were lost and repurpose old items. It will also make your life a bit more organized.
